A payment gateway or simply gateway is necessary for a business to accept credit cards, debit cards, e-checks, Apple Pay and other methods of payment, both online and in a brick and mortar store. The process involves authorizing the customer’s payment, then the customer’s bank puts a hold on the funds and then the customer’s bank sends the funds to the merchant’s bank.

Benefits of Payment Gateways

With cyber fraud, identity theft, and other means of bilking people out of their hard earned money, gateways are more necessary than ever. The proliferation of payment processors like PayPal and Google Pay make online transactions more secure.

With more and more people purchasing online items, gateways provide security for both customer and business owner. Other benefits include better analysis, automated account management, retained customer loyalty and quick and easy payments.

Authorize.Net Pricing And Terms

Authorize.net Plan Features

Plan features apply to each plan with no extra cost to the merchant. Account updater and e-check processing can be added to each plan but with an extra cost to the merchant.

Authorize.net supports these payment types:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Discover
  • American Express
  • JCB
  • PayPal
  • Visa Checkout
  • Apple Pay
  • Chase Pay
  • E-check

Plan features include fraud prevention, customer information management, quick, easy checkout, invoicing, recurring payments, e-check acceptance, and account updater.

There are no early termination fees or contracts with Authorize.net. Funds transfers generally take between three and five business days. Authorize.net takes all the merchant’s transactions from the previous day to send to the processing networks. This is why a daily batch fee is charged to the merchant.

Authorize.net Customer Service

If your customers need help, have questions, or need a problem fixed, they have 24/7 access to real people standing ready and able to help.

Authorize.net is the proud winner of ten consecutive ACE awards for customer service. They work hard to keep that standard for both merchants and customers.

Mobile Authorize.net

Food and arts festivals, public gatherings like races, and other public events outside a shop or online are great places for merchants to grow their brand. They’ll need a mobile method of taking payments and Authorize.net has that covered.

Slipping a card reader onto an Android or Apple smart phone or tablet is a simple matter of plugging it into the headphone jack or by using Bluetooth connectivity. The reader can be purchased through Authorize.net or a reseller and you can perform voids and refunds, change settings, and check your transactions. The app is available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

You can customize your app to take tips, adjust your tax rate, make a catalog complete with SKUs, and input shipping information. Email your customers’ receipt to them from the app. There’s no limit to what you can do in mobile sales!
